Books Sold out at Chapters and Coles

So I decided to go touring on this beautiful September sunny Saturday in Nova Scotia to the book stores with my daughter. I was very surprised (and pleased) to find that all of the Coles and Chapters had sold out! They stocked back up and now I am being booked for speaking engagements and book signings in time for Christmas. This is just so wonderful! I am very grateful that so many people are finding their own path from this modern take on the ancient wisdom of the philosophers to live and lead with dignity, grace and success in an illogical world.

Going Solo

Wow - the book talks keep coming in. I recently had to make some big decisions and my mentor, my boss supported me in going solo. Starting October 1st I will no longer be an employee - I will run my own company again and keep TCL on as a client. My CEO supports me in this leap so that I can grow and so that my company can grow. I am nearly 40 years old and again, a wonderful stretch into new territory. I am fortunate to have several clients right out of the gate - and most of all - I get to work from my home office - play with my kids when I want and select the clients I believe in. As Plato would call it, I am living “The good life.”

Visiting Captain Greene

I am in Ponoka visiting my best friend Captain Trevor Greene. I dedicated the book to him because he woke me up to the importance of speaking out for the rights of the oppressed, particularly women and children - in the school yards, in our communities and in our Global Village. I am so in awe of Captain Greene’s joy, spirit and talent as he is on the most incredible healing journey I have ever seen. He and his fiance Deb are moving into their home next month in BC. I am so proud of them. He is working on his next book and it will be released on November 11th next year. Will keep you posted.

Since the launch

It has been a wild journey since we launched “The 7 Virtues of a Philosopher Queen” on International Women’s Day in March of this year. I have been welcomed into communities from Sydney, Cape Breton to Squamish, BC with the book talks. New fans of the book range from Juno Award winner Jully Black to young girls from Abu Dhabi. It is very rewarding to see that women everywhere can connect with the idea that it costs nothing to build your character and that your character will take you to success. These stoic virtues are really becoming something people are talking about and putting into practice. It applies to advancing yourself, your family, your community and your business. The virtues are for everyone and I look forward to hearing stories of success from readers.
