Location – Flexible 

Team Integration

The Head of Digital will lead the Company’s e-commerce channels, reporting directly to the CEO. This role will work closely with internal Marketing and Creative teams; while this position is remote, working hours will need to accommodate multiple time zones, working with teams on both the West Coast (Pacific time zone) and East Coast (Eastern and Atlantic time zones) of North America. 

Role Description 

The Head of Digital is a critical leadership position for this growing multi-channel, content-rich brand. This role will be responsible for the strategic growth of the7virtues.com and retailer.com channels driven by a deep understanding of consumer journey, acquisition analytics, conversion optimization and retention marketing. 

What You’ll Do

  • Acquisition Develop, own, and implement an efficient acquisition strategy.

  • Retention Develop and optimize digital marketing programs which increase the LTV of the customer base. 

  • E-commerce growth Lead and activate mobile-first DTC e-commerce strategy, demand generation and digital tactical efforts via a holistic general management approach with P&L and full forecasting/budgetary responsibility with an eye toward delivering profitable growth. 

  • Media buying and campaign management Launch and manage paid advertising campaigns across all media platforms.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

DTC Acquisition

  • Optimize online demand generation channel mix including SEO/SEM, Paid Social, Display, Retargeting, Email and Affiliate marketing designed to achieve aggressive net new customer adds, profitable funnel conversion, CAC/AOV/LTV objectives. 

  • Partner with marketing and creative to develop continuous stream of persuasive ad creative. 

DTC Retention

  • Develop and optimize (digital) marketing programs which increase the LTV of the customer base by increasing retention, engagement and loyalty by maximizing the customer experience and perceived value of the brand. 

  • Work closely with creative and marketing teams to continually seek opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of current marketing programs across all customer life-stages including email marketing. 

E-commerce Management

  • Lead and activate mobile-first DTC e-commerce strategy, demand generation and digital tactical efforts via a holistic general management approach with P&L and full forecasting/budgetary responsibility with an eye toward delivering profitable growth. 

  • Serve as a passionate brand and gatekeeper by optimizing online presence and by continuing to build awareness, meaningful differentiation and ultimately preference and premium pricing for the assortment. 

  • Manage an effective merchandising and product stock levels strategy to ensure optimum inventory levels. 

  • Calendarize and execute site optimization/design needs. 

E-commerce Revenue and Financial Performance

  • Drive profitable, organic revenue growth by improving conversion rates and increasing revenue per user. 

  • Gain alignment to, and effectively help manage, the annual Digital operating budget and agreed upon KPIs including promotional plan. 

  • Own the budget and understand how to make the appropriate tradeoffs and adjustments when performance exceeds or falls short of expectations as market conditions warrant. 

Segmentation and Financial Performance

  • Collaborate with marketing leads to identify the highest potential customers who offer the greatest LTV, in order to appropriately allocate Marketing resources and meet or exceed brand's financial targets. This targeting process may require segmentation research to drive design and utilization of proprietary databases which can be optimized for each product, concept and channel. 

  • Manage full digital operations including email flow, fulfillment, reverse logistics and WMS. 

  • Lead and activate key account strategy with focus on retailer.com growth. 

  • Own the budget and identify key marketing investments across paid media, sampling, online checkout, rewards bazaar, POP! and other trial programs to ensure hero product distortions and growth. 

Key Account Revenue and Financial Performance

  • In partnership with Sephora account manager, lead day-to-day execution to ensure optimized online presence (customized to specific retailer distortions), drive traffic and trial, high visibility onsite and customer acquisition/penetration growth. 

Team Management

  • Directly oversee and manage all aspects of the e-commerce team including outside agencies and vendors.  

Target Setting & Reporting

  • Monitor and report on key metrics, adjusting marketing and spending plans as needed to achieve targets. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on integrated marketing results.

Budget Management

  • Manage and achieve budget targets influencer/creator relations. Regularly report on budget performance and adjust plans as necessary to meet annual goals.

Media Buying and Campaign Execution/Optimization

  • Launch and manage paid advertising campaigns like Paid Meta, Paid Search and Paid Tik Tok. Allocate and manage ad budgets across platforms while ensuring efficient spending and maximizing return on investment.

What You Bring

  • Proven track record of scaling sales.

  • Ability to manage budgets and develop analytics to understand performance/ROI

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to work in fast faced, flexible start-up environment 

  • Knowledge of DTC and Sephora best practices including marketing, social and paid media 

  • Proven excellence in leadership and execution of DTC and retailer.com growth plans 

  • 10+ years of digital marketing and e-commerce experience at a consumer brand or leading retailer (preferably fragrance) 

  • Strong leadership, team building and interpersonal skills to build successful relationships with both internal and external teams 

  • Strong influence skills and experience working with founder-led teams 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 

Salary Range

  • $150,000 to $160,00 USD
