The 7 Virtues, an award-winning, mission-driven fragrance brand, is looking for a visionary publicist to help us create trends, inspire global conversations, and bring our ethos of peace and empowerment to life.

This is not your typical PR role. We’re seeking someone who can think outside the bottle—someone who can craft compelling narratives that blend beauty with purpose, create visually stunning campaigns, and connect with audiences on an emotional level.

What You’ll Do:

  • Tell Stories That Stick: Craft and share narratives that captivate media, influencers, and our audience, weaving our MO of peace, empowerment, and quirky charm into every message.
  • Create Trends, Don’t Follow Them: Develop cutting-edge campaigns that set the pace in beauty and fragrance, driving conversations and shaping the industry.
  • Master Multimedia: Ideate and produce compelling, on-brand videos and visual content that resonate across platforms.
  • Engage with Media & Influencers: Build relationships with beauty editors, influencers, and trendsetters to amplify The 7 Virtues’ voice and mission globally.
  • Launch Global Fragrances: Spearhead the buzz around our launches (think perfumes debuting in over 1,500 Sephora stores) and create moments that position The 7 Virtues as a leader in ethical beauty.
  • Elevate Our Founder’s Voice: Work closely with Barb Stegemann to amplify her unique personality, bringing her quirky brilliance and inspiring mission to the forefront of everything we do.
  • Impact with Purpose: Ensure our empowering message for women and our ethos of peace are central to every campaign, trend, and story.

What You Bring:

  • A track record of creating impactful PR campaigns that set trends and resonate emotionally.Experience with Sephora and Beauty 
  • Exceptional storytelling skills with the ability to blend creativity, strategy, and a touch of humor or quirkiness.
  • Expertise in beauty and/or fragrance PR, with connections to editors, influencers, and industry tastemakers.
  • The technical know-how to ideate and produce video content that aligns with modern beauty campaigns.
  • A passion for purpose-driven work and a belief in empowering women through storytelling.
  • A balance of bold thinking and hands-on execution—you’re equally comfortable pitching top-tier media as you are behind the camera or in the edit suite. Experience with both digital and traditional media.

Publicist Responsibilities & Deliverables

  1. Media Coverage Goals
  • Feature Placements: Secure at least 2 major feature placements per quarter in top-tier international beauty, lifestyle, and wellness publications (e.g., Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Refinery29).
  • Trade Publications: Secure 2 placements quarterly on The 7 Virtues' growth, expansion, and new launches in leading beauty trade publications (e.g., WWD, Beauty Independent, CEW, Cosmetics Business).
  • Regional Highlights: Ensure press coverage is evenly distributed across key markets: Canada, USA, AUS/NZ, UK, and EU.
  • Emerging Outlets: Land at least 3 features in emerging digital platforms and Gen Z-focused media (e.g., BuzzFeed, Nylon, Dazed).
  1. Influencer Engagement & Outreach (In Collaboration with Outreach Contractors)
  • Strategic Partnerships: Partner with 15-20 influencers per month across targeted regions, focusing on beauty, lifestyle, wellness, and travel niches.
  • Content Deliverables: Ensure each influencer posts a minimum of:
    • 1 Instagram Reel or TikTok featuring the product.
    • 1 story series with swipe-up or link-in-bio to Sephora.
    • A short-form review or unboxing video (where applicable).
  • Campaign ROI: Drive measurable product mentions (tagging @the7virtues) and at least 10% follower growth in each market.
  1. Brand Launches & Events
  • New Product Launch PR: Develop comprehensive press kits, including storytelling pitches, hi-res visuals, founder interviews, and press releases for every new fragrance. 
  • Event Coordination: Organize and manage major influencer/media launch events per year in key cities (e.g., NYC, LA, Miami, Toronto) – Twice per year
    • Includes guest lists, follow-ups, and measurable media outcomes (features/posts).
  • Media Follow-Up: Ensure post-event coverage through follow-up pitching and distribution.
  1. Founder Story Amplification
  • Thought Leadership: Secure 5 founder features or interviews annually for Barb Stegemann in global business, fragrance, and lifestyle media (e.g., Forbes, Entrepreneur, BOF).
  • Podcast Appearances: Secure 3-5 podcast features for Barb, focusing on topics such as entrepreneurship, fragrance, clean beauty, and manifesting success.
  • Social Media Collaborations: Collaborate with media partners for live interviews and IG Lives across regions.
  1. Content & Campaign Development (In Collaboration with Social Media Editors)
  • Localized Messaging: Develop region-specific storylines and press materials for each key market while keeping brand consistency.
  • Crisis Communications: Proactively manage media relations for any product or PR challenges.
  • Seasonal Campaign PR: Support promotional campaigns (e.g., holiday launches, Sephora exclusives, Valentine's Day gift guides) with relevant press coverage.
  1. Metrics & Reporting
  • Media Recap Reports: Deliver a monthly report summarizing:
    • Coverage achieved (features, placements, impressions, and reach).
    • Influencer ROI (engagement rates, follower growth, conversion links).
  • KPIs: Track and hit KPIs for brand mentions, impressions, and increased visibility across the five markets.
